| Who We Are
Pet Adoption Alternative of Warren (PAAW) is a completely volunteer-run animal rescue organization dedicated to finding loving homes for dogs & cats in need. We aim to be THE alternative in pet placement! We seek not only to help animals who have been lost or turned into our local shelters, but also to assist families in search of new homes for their pets due to lifestyle, living arrangement or other similar changes. Our hope is that by providing assistance to families who must give up their beloved pets, those pets will not end up being brought to a shelter at all, and can be placed directly with another family who will give them the love and affection that they deserve. We also hope that by working with families in need, we can educate people in our community about the importance of carefully screening potential adopters and avoiding "free to good home" ads when looking for a safe new home for your pet. PAAW does NOT currently have FOSTER HOMES available!! However, if you know of an animal in need of a new home, please write for additional information on how PAAW CAN help. Please note, for animals that must be removed from their current home IMMEDIATELY, the PAAW program may not work. If that is the case, please continue searching on Petfinder for no-kill groups in your area that may be able to take your pet into foster care; or if you are unable to find a no-kill alternative, please contact your local shelter or animal control facility for assistance. However, if you ARE able to foster your current pet while he looks for a new "forever" family, the PAAW program just might be what you've been looking for! Remember, as your pet's owner, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure he is safe in a new home. We can help, but the ultimate responsibility lies with you! And if you are COMMITTED to making that happen, then you are just the person we are looking for! Give us a call or send us an e-mail. We'll be happy to do whatever we can to help! We will respond as quickly as possible; however, please be patient since we are run solely by volunteers, and it may be a day or two before we are able to respond. Please note that PAAW requires ALL pets placed through our rescue to be up-to-date on shots, and Spayed or Neutered. Inquiry will be made as to the status of any pets for whom assistance is requested, and all pets will need to have vetwork completed either by the owners or through the rescue prior to adoption. |

| Our adoptable pets are shown at Petco in Troy at Maple and Coolidge every Saturday from
11:00 am until 4:00 pm, and Sunday from Noon - 4 p.m. Not all pets are shown each weekend, so if you are interested in meeting a particular animal, please email us to
confirm whether that pet will be shown at that time before coming up to the store. We also schedule appointments to meet one on one with potential adopters on an as-needed
basis. If you are interested in adopting one of the PAAW pets listed on our site, please fill out the form below and click "submit." Be SURE to wait for your application to upload before moving to a different web location! Once we receive the completed form, we will contact you in regards to your application. If you do not hear back in regard to your application within 24-48 hours, please email us to confirm that your application was received! Please call or e-mail before going to a Petco location to ensure that the specific pet you are interested in will be there! If you have any questions, please contact us at PAAWarren@aol.com for additional information. Special thanks to all of our friends, supporters & volunteers. We would also like to thank Guardians for Animals for their help and support! And for their dedication above & beyond the call of duty to help "Hero," a very sweet Chow Chow who came into the shelter with a severely broken leg. Thanks to GFA, he is doing well, his leg has been repaired, and he has found his new "forever" home! To read more about Hero's story, or to make a donation to help other dogs in need like Hero, visit the GFA website at www.guardiansforanimals.org
